Lionel Messi will be the captain of Argentina

Lionel Messi will be the captain of Argentina in a friendly match against Venezuela, Friday, September 2, 2011 to be held in Calcutta, India. Earlier in the Copa America 2011, the position held by the team captain Javier Mascherano.

"Coach Alejandro Sabella has announced Messi will be the team captain," said executive director Celebrity Management Group, Bhaswar Goswami who are the organizers of this match as reported sports.ndtv.com.

In a game facing Venezuela, Argentina brought the stars that play in Europe such as Sergio Agüero (Manchester City), Ángel Di María (Real Madrid), and Ricardo Álvarez (Inter Milan).

"There were doubts from some quarters whether Argentina would bring the main team. But now all doubts were gone," said Goswami.
